100 Women Loca Impact
December 2, 2025

The successful recipient at the November 2025 meeting of $18,700 was the Cancer Support and Resource Program (CSRP) (presented by Pat Tebbs, sponsored by member Betty Ann Carty).  The other charities selected to present were:  HN Community Senior Support Services, presented by Cathy Haynes (sponsored by member Michelle Grummett) and LaSalette Area Rural Roots Community Hall presented by Sandra Rayner, sponsored by member Jo-Ann Beselaere.

The CSRP mission is to assist those touched by cancer to take charge of their choices.  The CSRP networks with government & community agencies, institutions, businesses and service groups and offers a variety of emotional and supportive services.  They fund their programs 100% through donations.

When accepted into the program, the cancer patient’s individual needs are reviewed.  Depending on these needs, the CSRP can assist wih gas cards, grocery cards, pay for prescriptions, hospital equipment, utility bills and/or transportations costs to/from the hospital.  A single person can receive up to $1000 in assistance, while a couple will receive up to $1250 and a family up to $1500.  In 2025, more than $16,000 has been provided to Norfolk County cancer patients to assist with some of the above expenses.

In addition, the CSRP operates 3 support groups – 1 in Port Dover and 2 in Simcoe.  These support groups have their own programs.  As an example they may provide a dinner out, a mini vacation, or help with summer camp.  Annually, they provide a free movie night at the Strand for those families touched by cancer.
